Zumba For Beginners – 3 Workouts You Should Try

Zumba for beginners

There aren’t too many workouts that look like fun. Most exercises look like a hell of a lot of work. Zumba is one of the rare exceptions where people are smiling and laughing DURING the workout. If you haven’t tried a dance cardio routine, here’s a Zumba for beginners workout list you should try.

Tips For Beginning Zumba

You Don’t NEED To Join A Class

Zumba can be done at home or in a dedicated class with an instructor and dozens of participants. If you’re an absolute 100% beginner, you may want to start out with an at home workout first. This can give you an idea of what the workout is like, and helps you decide if you enjoy it enough to pay for a full class.

It Isn’t A Dance Contest

One of the main reasons people shy away from Zumba, and dance cardio, is because they don’t consider themselves a good dancer.

You don’t need to be!

This isn’t a hip-hop competition where two dancers battle it out in the center of the room for ultimate glory. No one is there to judge you, or prove themselves as a dancer. If you decide to give a Zumba class a go, don’t make the mistake of trying to hide in the back of the room.

If you’re new to Zumba you’ll want to be near the instructor to get a clear view of the movements.

What To Wear

You don’t need much to get started with Zumba. There isn’t special equipment you’ll need to buy. No dumbbells, or floor mats. Most people already have everything they’ll need to jump into a Zumba dance workout.

Here’s what you need:

Good shoes (crosstrainers are great)
Towel (you’re gonna sweat, lol)
Water
Loose, comfortable clothes
