Yoga Workout For Flexibility

Yoga workout for flexibility

Written by – Flexibility contributes greatly to posture, strength, physical performance, and reducing injury. If you’re not as flexible as you’d like, you don’t have to limit yourself to static stretch and hold routines. A good yoga workout for flexibility can increase flexibility, range of motion, and tone your core all in one routine.

Yoga Vs Static Stretching

Stretch And Hold

The old school stretch and hold for 60 seconds used to be the go to move for flexibility and warm-ups. While this type of stretching is still useful for flexibility, it’s counterproductive to athletic performance. Forcing your muscles to elongate before physical activity can diminish its effectiveness to contract.

Static stretching is still okay for flexibility, but should be replaced with a dynamic warm-up before a vigorous workout.

Yoga For Flexibility

Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years. Yeah, thousands. There are yoga workouts to help with toning, strength, and others to help reduce stress. Something nearly all yoga workouts will have in common is the positive influence on flexibility and range of motion.

Mixing in a few yoga workouts will help you become more flexible, and you’ll notice your arms, legs and core becoming more toned along the way.
