When you’re trying to lose a few pounds, what you eat is just as important as how much. Adding these five foods to your meal plan has proven to help lose more weight while dieting. Here’s a list of foods that help you lose weight.
Almonds are a tremendous source of what’s considered the healthy fat. Eating more almonds can help keep you trim and lower your cholesterol. When eaten in moderation, they offer a great calorie to fiber ratio meaning it can help satisfy your hunger cravings with just 20-30.
Recent studies have shown a more consistent weight loss with those people who snack on almonds compared to those who snack on carb heavy foods. Try to avoid negating the health benefits of almonds, and pass on the salted or honey glazed variety.
You can grab a handful of almonds between meals or use it as a topping with your salad or vegetables.

Apples, long considered among the superfoods, is high in antioxidants, vitamins and fiber. Eating one whole apple a day will do more than keep the doctor away. It will give you a sense of fullness, suppress appetite and help you avoid binge eating.
It’s important to clarify the difference between whole apples and apple juice. Juice may be more convenient, coming in a prepackaged bottle that you can store for days or weeks, but it’s not helpful to losing weight.
Much of the fiber, vitamins and other health benefits are left out of the fruit juice. Some juices also have added sugar to improve the taste.

Avocados are loaded with healthy fats (monosaturated), folate, potassium and vitamins C and E. They are also good for your heart, vision and can help reduce the risk of certain cancers.
But what about weight loss?
Yup, that too. Studies have shown a more significant and consistent weight loss among dieters who regularly eat avocados everyday.

Bananas can help with blood pressure, digestive problems and replenish lost nutrients after strenuous workouts. That’s why you often see tennis players chomping on bananas between sets. The high levels of potassium can also help prevent cramps.
But most don’t think of bananas when it comes to weight loss, which is too bad. They provide a healthy starch that gives you a feeling of fullness. They’re also convenient and come prepackaged in a sturdy yellow container. 🙂
